I used to worry about balancing being a mom and my work.

I don’t anymore.

I am learning to rewrite the rules of what it means to show up, as I am. As a mom. As a lawyer. As a leader. As a teacher.

Embracing the challenges, complexities, and the joy of it.

I am speaking at Boston University School of Law then headed to San Antonio for Bexar County LEAD Academy this week. My husband unexpectedly had to travel to take care of his mom. So, here we are. On a 5:00 AM flight to Boston.

I used to be afraid to advocate for my needs. Asking for a lactation room. Asking for help in finding childcare.

Yet, each time I have asked despite my fear, my needs have been met. It’s magical.

I feel so proud to have my daughter by my side, having her witness her mom doing the work she loves. Seeing an Asian-American woman on stage.

So, for all the mamas, I see you. 💜
